Obituary for Jean Vinson Owens (Whitaker)
Jean Vinson Owens, 94, wife of the late Bruce J. Owens died July 10, 2022, in Orange County, CA. Born on March 22,1928, she was the daughter of the late Charlie and Jessie Whitaker of Louisville. Mrs. Owens raised a family and spent most of her life in Louisville. After a long career at the University of Louisville library, she retired and travelled extensively throughout the U.S. with her husband.
She lived the last 15 years of her life in Sun City and Southern CA to be near her children and their families.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Gladish, of Laguna Niguel,CA, and was preceded in death by her son, Brent (Linda) of Brea, CA., who passed away in 2020. She was also the proud grandmother of four, and great grandmother of two.
Her funeral visitation will be held Wed., Aug. 3rd, from 11am -1pm at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd. A graveside service will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park, 4400 Bardstown Rd.
