Obituary for Jean Sellers Swenck (Sellers)

Jean Sellers Swenck, 90 passed away peacefully on January 30, 2019 at Baptist East Palliative Care. She was born in Louisville, KY on May 15, 1928 to UB and Margaret Sellers.
Jean was a member of Kappa Delta sorority at Northwestern University and graduated in 1948 when she married James “Jim” Swenck. They enjoyed 58 wonderful years together.
She was an avid bridge player, and always loved a good game of golf. Jean and Jim were members of Audubon and Wildwood Country Clubs in Louisville. She was also a member of the Ladies Falls City Golf Association Jean taught music in the Jefferson County Public Schools for 25 years and was an accomplished musician who loved performing for others.
Upon retirement, Jean and Jim moved to Florida where they enjoyed golf and many new friends at the Martin Downs Country Club. They joined the Palm City Presbyterian Church, and Jean became their organist. They returned to Louisville in 2003 and began attending Christ United Methodist, where she was very proud of her role as the pianist for the Path Finders’ Sunday School Class.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents, sister Jaqueline Miller and her husband Jim and a great grand dog, Reese.
Survivors include her daughter, Robin Riggs (Raymond), granddaughter, Kelly Hannah (Scott), great grandchildren, Bodey and Laney Hannah, brother-in-law, Corky Miller, nieces, Karen Patrick (David) and Peggy Hinshaw (Damon), a great niece and several great nephews.
Visitation will be from 5-7PM Friday February 1st, at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd. Her Funeral will be 11AM Saturday at Christ Church United Methodist , 4614 Brownsboro Road. Interment will be at Resthaven Cemetery on Bardstown Road.
