Obituary for Jerry Ray Jackson

On May 12, 2021, Jerry R. Jackson, great friend to all, passed away at age 65 .

Jerry was born in Louisville, Kentucky on 02/02/56 to Ernest Jackson and Elizabeth Jackson.

Jerry retired from Ford motor company with 29 years of committed service. Jerry also served his country in the Navy aboard the USS Lexington STV 16. Jerry's heartfelt respect for all his fallen veteran brothers was unparalleled and unshaken until the end.

Jerry had passions for many hobbies. He was a professional bass fisherman, an accomplished open water diver, and a skilled welder in all types of metal. He was a loving provider for all his past and present pet companions.

Jerry was also a passionate country music lover, with his love for the Southern rock right on its heels. Jerry was also a vigilant supporter of his country, flag, and the United States Constitution, with an iron-clad belief in the Second Amendment. Jerry was a proud 29 year member of the NRA.

For Jerry, his love for his friends, families, hobbies, and passions could be no better expressed than the love of the wind and free feeling atop his Harley Davison motorcycle; or as Jerry put it, “kick stands up, let’s ride.”

Jerry was preceded in death by his father.Ernest Jackson, his mother Elizabeth Jackson. He leaves a brother Terry Jackson ,nephews: Christopher, Mike, Scott. Niece: Dawn. Cousins: Larry, Sandy, Eddie, Dan, Jimmy, and Bruce.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, May 22, 2021 at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd., Louisville, KY 40205.
Visitation will begin at 12 noon and his service at 4 PM
