Joan Sonne Kemper
Joan Sonne Kemper, 75, passed away at home suddenly and unexpectedly on February 20, 2023 with her husband at her side. She was married to her husband, Gary Kemper, for 38 years. She was born in Louisville on December 24, 1947 to the late Louis Sonne, MD, and Mary Lou Crutcher (Gibson). Joan graduated from Atherton High School, and studied at Eastern Kentucky University. She retired from Baptist Healthcare in late 2013 where she had worked since 1985. At the time of retirement she worked as an Administrative Assistant to the planning department in the corporate office. Joan loved cats, to her they were like children. She loved nature and could enjoy watching birds, and other wildlife from the sunroom for hours. She also enjoyed the beauty of a good snow!
Joan is survived by her brother, Louis Sonne Jr. (Cathy) of Maineville, OH; sister, Jeannette Sonne Hyde; stepmother; Susan Sonne; and brother-in-law, Bruce Kemper (Pamela). Joan was a very proud Aunt to Susan, Ellie, and Jack Sonne.

Visitation for Joan will be held Tuesday, March 7th, 2023 from 10am to 12 noon, with service following immediately after visitation at Highlands Funeral Home 3331 Taylorsville Road, Louisville, KY 40205. Joan will be laid to rest at Cave Hill Cemetery at a private ceremony with family after services have completed.
