John Lambert Allen “Jack”, 90, of Louisville, passed away on December 3, 2018 at Baptist Health Palliative Care.
He was a graduate of Flaget High School and the University of Louisville. Jack worked in the interior design business for over 60 years and was part owner of his own firm, J. Allen, Inc. which he started with his son John in 1991. A large part of Jack’s success was his strong work habits, his ability to relate to people and his devotion to family and faith. Jack never met a stranger.
He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Minnie Allen; his brother, William Allen; and his son David James Allen.
Jack is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Marilyn (Hubbuch) Allen; children, Mary Lynn Finnegan (Bill), John Allen (Susan), Kathy Clark (Mike), Mark Allen (Cindy), Chris Allen (Susan), Ann Jones (Don Ingram), daughter in law Pam Allen; grandchildren Michael Finnegan (Karleen), Brian Finnegan (Jessica), Sean Allen (Stephanie), Jamie Embry (Jake), Tara Allen, Colleen Jablonski (Stephen), Krysta Clark, Allen Michael Clark, Blair Allen, Patrick Allen, Sara Moore (Chris), Angela Love (Andy), Mary Allen (Cat), Christopher Allen (Erin), Bradley Allen, John Allen, Emily Allen, Morgan Jones, Ashton Jones, Max Jones, and his eight great grandchildren.
A Catholic Mass to celebrate the life of Jack will be held at St. Louis Bertrand Church at 9:30am on Friday, December 7, with private burial following at Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to St. Louis Bertrand Church or Xaverian Brothers Generalate.
