Obituary for Joseph Alfred Elder
Joseph A. “Joe” Elder, 86, of Louisville, passed away on Tuesday May 1, 2018 at the Episcopal Church Home.
He was a 1950 graduate of Flaget High School, a Navy Veteran during the Korean War and a Tool and Dye Maker for General Electric.
He was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Eloise Elder, two brothers, Billy and Steve Elder, one sister, Mary Helen Becker and pets, Pluto, Quackers, Mac, Kitty and Biff.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Joan C. Elder, his son, Glen Elder (Jim Gibson), three daughters, Kelly Jordan (Mark), Joyce Elder (Woodie Hippler) and Gayle Thomas (Dan), 5 grandchildren, Stuart Jordan (Kristin), Brent Jordan, Hunter Jordan, Brooke Thomas, and Sam Thomas, one –great granddaughter, Haddie Jordan, his sister Betty Bayens, his cat, Bridgett and four “granddogs”, Frank, Hank, Emmy and Ella.
Visitation will be Sunday, May 6th, from 4-8PM at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd. Funeral Service will be Monday at 11 AM at the Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
Expressions of sympathy can be made to the KY Humane Society.
