Obituary for Judy Rebecca Bizianes (Hamilton)

Judy Bizianes, cherished wife, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away Tuesday, September 27, 2022 after a brief illness. She was 80 years young.

A woman of faith, we take comfort knowing she is with her Lord and Savior and reunited with the love of her life, our father, whom she has missed every single day since his passing. She spoke about how incredibly proud she was in all of her family.

Judy is survived by her 4 children; sons, Chris (Elizabeth), John (Lynn), David (Beth), and daughter, Jana McKinney (Martin); 9 grandchildren, Alex Bizianes (Karah), Katherine Bizianes, Jessica Sutter (Kyle), Lauren Roy (Lucas), Bradley, Juliet, and Miles McKinney, Ella and Jack Bizianes; and 2 great-grandchildren, August Bizianes and Isaiah Roy. In addition, she leaves behind sister-in-lollie, Suzy Bizianes-Yuodis, and brother-in-law, Roy W. Bizianes, Sr.; niece Emily Gentry (Tyler); nephews, Matthew Yuodis, Roy W.Bizianes Jr., and Joseph Orthman (Susan); great-nieces, Elliot and Rumer Gentry, and Emma Orthman; and great-nephews, Elijah Estes and TJ Gentry.

Judy was preceded in death by her loving husband of 54 years, Richard “Larry” Bizianes, with whom she worked by his side at their “Bizianes Music Mart” until his passing. We all have been proud of the strength and grace with which she carried herself since the loss of him. She is additionally predeceased by her parents, Joseph Clarence Hamilton and Myrtle (Haycraft) Hamilton; and her brother, Joseph C. Hamilton.

Judy was born December 10, 1941 in Louisville, KY. She was a graduate of DuPont Manual High School, Class of 1959. As a young person she took up playing the accordion attending the Cot Haynes School of Music where she would meet her future husband.

In addition to having a love and talent for music, Judy could be found many days during the week drinking coffee or tea at the Music Mart and either quilting or sewing, fussing over her needlework, knitting or crocheting. And chances were the project she was working on was for a student, friend, or family member. It was her love language and she spoke it well. Her love will live on in those items each time one of us fondly snuggles under a quilt or looks at a needlepoint picture.

We will miss our mom, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. It’s up to us, collectively, to keep her with us in those things she taught us.

Visitation will be Sunday, October 2nd, from 1-4 pm, with her memorial service to follow at 4 pm at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331Taylorsville Rd.

In lieu of flowers and donations, we ask that you take a moment to spend with your loved ones, children. Teach your kids, grandkids, or great-grandkids about your life. Spend time learning to sew, knit, or crochet. Learn to play music. Be present in your life. And let those you love know that you love them…and allow them to love you in return.
