Obituary for Ken Haner

Kenneth C. Haner, 94, of Louisville, died on Friday, December 30, 2022 at Masonic Home of Louisville.

Born in Louisville to the late Ray and Leona Haner, Ken grew up in the Shelby Park neighborhood and was a 1946 graduate of St. Xavier High School. He was the retired owner-operator of Mazzoni’s Oyster Café, which he ran for 30 years. Ken loved golf, swimming, singing, and being with his family. A devout Catholic, he was a parishioner at St. Raphael the Archangel for 70 years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 43 years, Mitzi Mazzoni Haner; and his sisters, Jean King and Darlene Dean.

He is survived by his children, Lynn Haner, Scott Haner (JoAnn), Kathy Grider (Tony), and Greg Haner; his brother, Robert Haner, Sr.; his granddaughters, Julie Haner (Dennis), Lauren Welsh (Josh), Brie Haner, Morgan Logsdon (A.J.), and Katie Grider; and his three great-grandsons, Callen, Asher, and Parker.

His funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 am on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at St. Raphael, Bardstown Rd. at Lancashire Ave., with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 pm Monday at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd.
