Obituary for Kenneth "Kenny" Lewis Hines

Kenneth "Kenny" Lewis Hines, our happy traveler, left this world headed for Heaven on October 6th, 2022. Born in Louisville to the late Elmore and Rose Hines, Kenny had his own band for 30 years and loved playing the trumpet. He also worked for International Harvester and had his own tool and die company.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Patricia Penn Hines. He is survived by his second wife, Kathryn Hardy-Hines; children, Jerry Hines (Susan), Julia Warfel (Walt), Mark Hines (Stephanie) and Derrick Hines (Wendy); his brother, Ronald Hines; 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Kenny will be seeing Jesus and his first wife, Pat, to beginning planning the ultimate Hines’ Family Reunion. His family will miss him, but will see him again when their invitations to the party arrive. If you would like an invitation to the ultimate party, just ask anyone in the family; we’ll tell you how to get there!

His visitation will be Monday, October 10th, from 4 pm – 7 pm, at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd. His service will be held on Tuesday, October 11th, 11:00 a.m. at Highlands. Burial will follow in Floydsburg Cemetery (Duncan Memorial Chapel Cemetery), 5600 Old Floydsburg Rd., Crestwood, KY, 40014.

Memorial donations may be made to Trinity Presbyterian Church (www.tpclouisville.net) or Salt and Light Baptist Church (www.saltandlightbaptist.org); but the family would really rather you throw a cookout and make some happy memories remembering Kenny.
