Obituary for Lawrence E. "Larry" Fess
Lawrence “Larry” E. Fess, 94 of Louisville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 28th, 2021.
He was retired from International Harvester, and served during World War II in the US Navy, USS Baltimore (CA-68).
Larry was an avid golfer and the eldest member of South Park Country Club, having been a member for 57 years. He was also a member of Iroquois Post American Legion.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Helen Fess.
He is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, JoAnne Gadlage Doerhoefer Fess; his children, Michael Fess (Cindy), Phyllis Fess Baker (Robert), Robert Doerhoefer and Susan Burton (Joe); grandchildren, Brad Burton, Julianne Doerhoefer (Eric), Rachel Burton (Scotty) and Carissa Harden (Scott); and two great grandchildren, Ezra and Wyatt.
Visitation will be Wednesday, November 3rd, 12:00 - 8:00 pm at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd. The funeral service will be 11:00 am Thursday at the funeral home, with entombment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
Expressions of sympathy can be made to the Nazareth Home or Hosparus of Louisville.
