Obituary for Lee R. McClure

McCLURE, LEE R., 84, of Louisville, passed away Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at Baptist East Hospital.
Born in Mt, Vernon, KY, he was an Army Air Corps veteran and retired as a claims manager for the Transamerica Insurance Co. and was the assistant chief of the McMahan Fire Dept, during the 60's. He also attended Countryside Baptist Church in Clearwater, Florida and Beechmont Baptist Church and was a member of the Kentucky Bar Association for 50 years and the President and Director of South Gate Park in Clearwater for 10 years.
Lee is survived by his wife, the former Edwina Harp; son, Gary Lee McClure (Linda); daughters, Peggy McClure (Greg), Brenda Solley (Tom), Lora McClure; step daughter, Rose Hamblen (Gary) stepson, Tom Solley, Jr. (Cara); step daughter, Bethany Darrall (Paul); grandchildren, Todd Hancock (Jackie), John Hancock ( Holly) Bridget and Brandon Solley, Kim Stephens (Mike), Perry Kirk (Shelley) and great-grandchildren, Samuel and David Hancock, Caroline, Gabrielle and Rachel Stephens, and Isabelle and Mason Kirk.
His service will be at 11:30 .m. Friday October 15, 2010 at Highlands-Family Owned Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road, with entombment in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
