Obituary for Leonardo "Din" Rodriguez

RODRIGUEZ, LEONARDO "DIN" 87, of Louisville, passed away Sunday, October 31, 2010 at Norton Hospital Downtown.
Born in Holguin, Cuba, he was a retired CPA for the Interstate Commerce Commission in Washington, D.C. and a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church. He was adventurous, loved to take long trips by car (a man of the road), a connoisseur of wine, an avid reader and story-teller. He was also a great fan of all sports and was known for his collections of sports caps. Devoted to family and friends, he was extremely proud of his sons' and grandchildren's accomplishments.
He is survived by his wife, the former Mercedes Garcia, with whom he recently celebrated their wedding anniversary of 61 years; sons, Leonardo Rodriguez (Lorene) and Dr. Jorge L. Rodriguez (Shelia); sisters, Anna Riera and Libia Romeu; and grandchildren, Kristina, Caroline, Roman, Marisa and Gabriel.
His memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, November 26, 2010 at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 1920 Newburg Rd. Visitation will follow noon - 4 p.m. on Friday at Highlands Family-Owned Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd.
