Mae L. Alberstadt, 93, of Louisville, born September 28, 1916, in Erie, PA, passed away Sunday morning, April 11, 2010, at her daughter's home, to join her Heavenly Father, and her beloved husband, Richard C., who died August 24, 1975.
Richard and Mae came to Louisville in 1952 from Erie to help open GE's Appliance Park.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Simon and Anna Rastatter; her sister, Viola Gustafson; her brother, Herbert Rastatter; and son-in-law, Bruce A. Whitty.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Lane Whitty, of Louisville; her son, Robert C. Alberstadt (Debbie), Bakersfield, CA; her granddaughters, Karen Whitty, Anne Marie Johnson (Jeff), Alyce Tommel (Greg) and Torrie Alberstadt; her grandson, Taylor Alberstadt; and her great-grandchildren, Dean and Rachel Johnson.
Mae's funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 1960 Bardstown Rd. Visitation will be from 9 -10:30 a.m. Wednesday, at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mae's name to Special Olympics of Kentucky, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Hosparus.
