BOYER, MARGARET "PEGGY," 74, was returned to her Heavenly Father Thursday, February 4, 2010 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
She was the former Margaret "Peggy" Coomes and member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, a retired Medical Technician of over 30 years of Norton Suburban Hospital, Queen Mum of Joe's Red Hat Girls, a member of Buechel Women's Club and a Mary Kay consultant.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Ralph L. Boyer Sr.; and daughter, Mary Ellen Boyer.
She is survived by her sons, Ralph Jr. and Thomas Boyer; daughters, Katherine Johnson (Bob), Alisa Pifine (Chris), Melanie Vanhoozer (Chris); grandchildren, William, Thorin, Benjamin, Emily, Nathaniel, Savanah, Julia and Lance; great-grandchildren, Mary Ellen and Gage Logan; brothers, Jack Coomes (Tillie), George (Sharon), Dan (Kitty); and a sister, Brenda Maras.
Her Funeral Mass will be at noon, Thursday, February 11, 2010 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1406 E. Washington St. with burial in Cave Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. Sunday, and 1-7 p.m. Monday at Highlands Family-Owned Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Highview Baptist Church, 7711 Fegenbush Ln., Louisville KY 40228 c/o Adam's Pantry or to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 600 E. Main St., Louisville KY.
Her family would like to express their grateful thanks for the care shown to her by the employees at CBC and the oncology nursing staff at Baptist Hospital East.
