Obituary for Mark A. Kordis
Officer Mark A. Kordis, 58 of Mt. Washington, KY, passed away on Wednesday, December 27th, 2023 surrounded by his loving family and his police family.
Mark was born on January 18, 1965 in Boston, Massachusetts to Jack and Helen Kordis. He was a proud Veteran of the US Army and he served in the Gulf War. Mark served as a Police Officer for over 30 years for the Louisville Metro Police Department. He was a devoted husband, father, an avid Christmas fan, decorating for Christmas, loved to cook and feed his Platoon and loved going on family trips.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mark is survived by his loving wife, Angela Kordis, his children, Sandra Kordis (Alex Higgins) and Josh Kordis, his sisters, Julie Burns, Alice Edwards, Terry Neahos, and Peggy Hinton and his brothers, Chris Kordis, Ted Kordis, Mike Kordis and Tom Kordis.
Visitation will be Friday, January 5th from 12:00 pm - 8:0 0pm, at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd. There will be a Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 614 service at 7:00 pm Friday at the Funeral Home. His Funeral Mass will be 10:00 am Saturday, January 6th, at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 5505 Bardstown Rd., Louisville, KY 40291.
