Obituary for Martha Brady Knight
Martha Brady Knight, 85, passed away on Monday, July 17th, 2023, at Baptist East Hospital.
She was a graduate of Ursuline Academy. She became a stay-at-home mom for 29 years; and together with her husband, they raised six children. During her children’s elementary school years, she was a Room Mother, a PTA Officer, tutored dyslexic children, a Cub Scout Den Mother, and more.
She then returned to the workforce and eventually retired as a receptionist for a psychiatric practice. She loved her family, music, U of L basketball and The Kentucky Derby.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William A. Brady and Martha May Boone; two brothers; William (Bill) Brady, Jr., James (Jim) Brady; and her son, Donny.
Survivors include her husband, Donald “Shub” Knight; sons, Larry (Lenise), Ken “Doc” (Louise), Jeff (Kelly), Donny’s wife (Cindy), and Greg (Brittney); one daughter, Nancy Yothers (Geoff); one sister, Barbara Sprenger; multiple grandchildren, great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
Her funeral Mass will be at 11:00 am, Friday, July 21, at St. Edward Catholic Church, 9610 Sue Helen Drive, Jeffersontown, with a private burial.
Visitation will be 2:00 pm - 8:00 pm on Thursday, July 20th, at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road.
