Obituary for Martin Lee Watkins
Martin Lee Watkins, 65, of Louisville, died Saturday, August 27, 2022, at his home.
Born in Louisville to the late Luther T. and Francis B. Watkins, Martin was a graduate of Trinity High School and was a member of St. John Paul II Catholic Church. Martin possessed a great sense of humor and was passionate about many things; he loved his Oldies music, his watch and pocket knife collections, his Harley-Davidson motorcycles, his old pickups, and especially, his dogs.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 25 years, Mary Jean Sommers Watkins; his children, Dennis, Justin, and Melissa; his sister, Serena Mudd (Fred); two beautiful granddaughters; one great-granddaughter; and 13 devoted in-laws.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Plumber's Supply for treating Martin with such kindness and respect. Martin was able to retire from Plumber's Supply in January 2022.
His funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, September 2, 2022 at St John Paul II, 3521 Goldsmith Ln., with burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Thursday at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd.
