Obituary for Margaret Eckerle

Mary “Margaret” Davis Eckerle, passed from this life into eternal life on June 22, 2022 at the age of 95. She was preceded in death by John E. Eckerle M.D., husband of 70 years and her parents, William Forrest Davis and Nora Belle Woolridge Davis of Vine Grove, KY.

Margaret was in the U.S. Cadet Nurse Corp training program during World War II. She graduated from St. Anthony School of Nursing in 1947 and enjoyed her years as an OB nurse. Margaret was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, Nana, Great-Nana, cousin, aunt, friend, and Catholic.

She is survived by her children, Diane Eckerle, John D. Eckerle (Sheila Lee), Judith E. Quinlan (Tom), Bruce T. Eckerle (Kim), heart- adopted son, Charlie Bacigalupi (Helen Lui), grandchildren, Jennifer Kessler (Kelly), Nathan F. Johnson (Lauren Gawthrop), Claire Quinlan, Colleen Q. Olsen (Jon), Trey Quinlan, Christin Eckerle, Catherine Eckerle, great grandson, Declan G. Olsen, cousins, Ronald P. Davis (Betsy), Janie Davis and Eckerle nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd, Louisville, KY, Friday, June 24, 2022, 9:30 A.M.- 10:30 A.M. Margaret’s funeral Mass will follow at St. Brigid Catholic Church, 1520 Hepburn Ave, Louisville, KY, 11:00 A.M. Burial will be in the Vine Grove City Cemetery for immediate family.
