I met Mary Ruth and Bill in the early 90’s through her niece Marcia. Over the years we shared some fantastic times together and became extremely close. We were more like family than friends. I joked about me wanting them to adopt me so Mary Ruth started calling me, “Sonny boy“. We remained close through the years. After Bill‘s passing, I would still visit with her when in Kentucky and we kept in touch by phone. She would ALWAYS find time to send me a card on my birthday and the holidays. Such a thoughtful and beautiful person! I kept her cards and will continue to treasure them. We shared Great laughs and we had such memorable times together that I will also treasure! I will always have the deepest respect, love and admiration for Mary Ruth. She was my very close and trusted friend that I had the privilege of knowing for close to 25 years and I thank the Good Lord for that. Thanks for the great memories Mary Ruth! Now you can be reunited with Bill.
I wanted to celebrate all the love that Mary Ruth shared with so many at the services today and tomorrow. Circumstances beyond my control prevented me from traveling to Louisville to attend the service but I will be there in spirit. My heart felt condolences to Annie, Linda, Greg and the entire family for their heartbreaking loss.

I met Mary Ruth when I was a case manager at Baptist East and Bill was a patient I worked with. I was given the privilege by Velma of calling her Aunt Mary Ruth and him Uncle Bill. They were both special people and my thoughts and prayers are with Mary Ruth's family at this time. It is a blessing to know they are together again.
