SWEET,
Mary Elizabeth, 96, of Louisville, passed away Monday, December 13, 2010 at Jefferson Manor.
Born in Herbst, IN, she was a retired Seamstress for Milton’s Men’s Store, Marion, IN, a member of First Friends Marion, Marion, IN, where she was active in missionary circles and United Society of Friends Women, and a former member of the Louisville Nimble Thimbles.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Sweet.
She is survived by her daughter, Marsha Pence (Hobert); grandchildren, Robert Pence (Janet), Ryan Pence (Deborah), and Stefanie Whitmer (Darren); great-grandchildren, Christopher, Emily, Marley, and Timothy Pence, and Jillian and Erin Whitmer.
Mary cherished her extended family, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many family friends. She followed in the footsteps of her mother and grandmother as a seamstress and needle woman extraordinaire.
Her funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, December 17, at Highlands Family-Owned Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Thursday at Highlands. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Monday, December 20 at Estates of Serenity Cemetery, Marion, IN.
