Obituary for Michael Samuel Todovich
Michael Samuel Todovich, Sr, 72, passed into Eternal Life on Friday, February 18, 2022.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 51 years, Glenna Sublett Todovich, son, Michael S. Todovich, Jr,; granddaughter. Anastasia Todovich; and brother-in-law, Clarke Otte. Michael was preceded in death by his son, Aaron David Todovich; mother, A. Catherine Todovich; and father, Samuel Todovich.
He was a firefighter by profession serving 24 years with the Louisville Division of Fire from April 27, 1969 through September 1, 1993. His last assignment was as District Chief, Car 54, Chief’s Office. Michael also served in the US Army and was stationed at Fort Ord, CA. He was a trainer for the Community Emergency Response Team for the US Coast Guard from 1998 through 2000.
Michael was a member of the Honorable Order of the Kentucky Colonels, a member of the American Legion and the United States Windsurfing Association.
He was a true American Patriot and always a consummate gentleman, who will forever be remembered and greatly missed by his wife, son and friends.
Visitation will be 2 pm to 8 pm Sunday, February 27, 2022 at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road, Louisville, KY 40205. His funeral service will be held at 11 am on Monday, February 28, 2022 at the funeral home, with private burial to take place at a later date.
