Mildred Elizabeth Blandford, 99, of Louisville, passed away in the early hours of April 8th, 2022, surrounded and held in prayer by her loving family.

She was born September 19th, 1922, in Jefferson County, a daughter of the late Letty and Emil Kordes, who preceded her in death. In addition, and to her great sadness, she lost her husband Gerald Blandford and both of her daughters Emily McIntyre and Mary Patrice Deaton.

She is survived by her two sons, Jerry Blandford (Kathy), George Blandford (Beth), nine grandchildren Kelley, Michael, Beth, Adam, Katie, Matt, Shannon, Devon and Spencer, and fourteen great grandchildren.

“Millie” was especially proud of her work for the Courier-Journal as a model and secretary. She was a devoted Catholic, loved being active, walking her dogs, riding her bicycle, listening to opera and cooking for her family, friends and especially Rosie. A lover of chili and chocolate and homemade soup, nothing pleased her more than being surrounded by her family and friends. Her life had its share of sorrow, but we will always remember her laughter.

Funeral Mass will be held at St. Louis Bertrand, 1104 S. 6th St, at 9:30am Wednesday, April 13.
