Obituary for Nancy Bohnert Graeser

Nancy L. Graeser, 88, died January 5, 2019 at Nazareth Home.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Emil A. Graeser and her parents Bernard and Marie (Rausch) Bohnert.

She was born in Louisville, Kentucky on December 28, 1930. While an only child, Nancy derived immense joy watching her family grow over the years.

She is survived by five children Edie Raque (Norvin), David Graeser, Kurt Graeser (Janet), Jenny Graeser Wimsatt and Kathleen Graeser; nine grandchildren, Brad Raque (Suzanne), Amy Hurley (Scott), Greg Raque (Jessica), Matthew Raque, Eric Graeser, Scott Graeser (Natalie), Brian Graeser, Christopher Wimsatt (Tiffany) and Keith Wimsatt. Nancy also had 12 “Great Grands”, Emma and Ethan Raque, Ben, Reagan, Nolan and Brynley Hurley, Elizabeth and George Graeser, Henry and Harrison Raque, and Hawthorne and Colin Wimsatt.

Nancy was devoted to her family and friends. She was affectionately known to her children as Mother Theresa because of her patience, gentle nature and loving ways. Nancy is a Presentation Academy Alumna (Class of 1948). She graduated in 1952 from Spalding College with a degree in Home Economics. Nancy’s passions included gourmet cooking, sewing, knitting and reading. Her hobbies included golf, swimming and bridge. She enjoyed volunteering for many causes including Queen’s Daughters, Bellarmine Women’s Council, and St. Leonard Parish.

Special thanks to the caregivers at Nazareth Home for the wonderful care they provided to our parents.

Visitation will be Friday, January 11th from 2 pm to 7 pm, at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road. A Mass of Resurrection will be held at St. Leonard Catholic Church, 440 Zorn Avenue, on
Saturday, January 12 at 10 am, with burial to follow in Cave Hill Cemetery.
