Obituary for Nicholas John Abele

Nicholas John Abele, 34, passed away peacefully August 2, 2019 at his home. He was born August 10, 1984 to Thomas John and Nancy Jean Cole Abele.

Nick, aka “Skinny” of Cdub Racing, had a big love for everything he did. He was skilled in many trades, but he was a professional in driving race cars, fishing, and mostly having fun. Nick was an avid storyteller. His booming voice had a way of drawing you in so that you could relive part of the action with him. Nick loved his friends and family, and he never met a stranger. He was hilarious, found humor in everything and everyone, and he was the life of the party. He had no limits, especially when it came to speed. He lived life fast, was a bit of a risk-taker, and rocked a “Let’s get it- Why not?” lifestyle.

Nick LOVED the finer things in life, like expensive hotel rooms, nice restaurants, and luxury rental cars, but he had an appreciation for all things great and small. One of his greatest joys was laying in the floor and playing tug-of-war at night with Sasha and Chloe. The world was better, simply because he was in it. We were blessed with his life and now we are blessed to have a red-bearded angel watching over us. If you were lucky enough to have known him, then you were lucky enough.

Nick is survived by his wife, Trisha Bryant; parents, Thomas and Nancy Abele; brothers, Jesse Abele, Brad Abele (Michelle); nephews, Kayden Abele, Logen Abele, Alex Abele; special brothers, Ado Omerovic, Brian Blake, and an enormous list of friends and family.

Visitation will be Friday, August 9, 2019 from 11:00-8:00 at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd., Louisville, KY 40205. Family and friends are invited and encouraged to share memories of Nick beginning at 6:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Mispits and Friends Rescue, PO Box 581652, Louisville, KY 40268.
