passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 27, 2010, just shy of his 90th birthday. He was a Louisvile native who began his education at St. Boniface. He had traveled extensively playing golf and seeing the sights of several continents with his wife of sixty-six years. As a charter member to join Hurstbourne Country Club, before it opened in 1966, he played over 3,000 rounds of golf at the club and was fortunate enough to get three hole-in-one's during his golf career.He had a very successful career when he was an executive at General Baking Company/Bond Bread, as well as assistant to the President and Regional Manager.He went on as a General Manager at National Garage Builders. He retired as the owner of Good Garage Builders after being involved in the building of more than 12,000 commercial and residential garages over a period of 38 years. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, the former Lucille Knight of New Albany; and his son, Nick J. Evola Jr., an architect from Louisville. He is survived by hid daughters, Diane Frazier of Louisville; and Suzanne Jameson of Littleton, CO; brothers, Paul Evola, and sister, Marie Skaggs (Jim), along with seven grandchilren, and fifteen great-grandchilren, many nieces and nephews,cousins and lifelong friends. Nick will be greatly missed by those who loved him but he is now with the love of his life, Lucille. His funeral service is 1 p.m. Wednesday at Highlands Family-Owned Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd. Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Tuesday.
