Obituary for Noel Piasecki Harris
Noel Piasecki Harris, age 78, died on the morning of August 16th, 2019, at her home while surrounded by family. Noel was dearly loved by her sons, Scott and Gary Harris, and her daughter, Kirsten Harris Barnett; grandsons, Christopher Blackford, Connor Barnett, Tyler Harris, Cameron Barnett; great-grandson, Gage Blackford; and others; Myles and Tammy Cosgrove, Deborah Harris, Stuart Carter, Chelsea Blackford, Sabrina Mills, Amy Harris, and many other cherished friends.
Born in Chicago, IL in 1940 to Emilian and Edith, Noel lived a prosperous life, graduating from Walt Whitman High School in the state of New York and the University of Louisville in the state of Kentucky with a Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Rank 1. She was both a math teacher and resource teacher from 1978 until her retirement in 1998. A member and past president of both the UofL Women’s Club and the Louisville Teachers of Mathematics Council, she devoted her life to teaching others. She donated her body to the University of Louisville’s bequeathal program.
A memorial service will be held at Highlands Funeral Home (3331 Taylorsville Road) on Sunday, August 25th at 3p, with visitation from 2 to 5.
