Obituary for Pamela Joan Moore (Ling)

Pamela Joan Moore, born in Norwich, England, on August 9, 1946, peacefully passed away in Louisville, KY, on December 30, 2023.

She is survived by her loving children, Chris Moore (Lindsey) and Keri Rosson, along with her sister, Judy Girdwood, and brother, Chris Ling. Pam is loved by her four grandchildren Ryan, Shayera, Chloe and Sam. Pam was preceded in passing by her husband Michael, Father William and Mother Edith (Tingy).

Pam met her husband, Michael Moore, while working as a dental hygienist in Gibraltar during their time in the Royal Air Force. Their relationship started over beers and games of pool, and grew while enjoying traditional jazz and dancing, leading to a life-long marriage.

Together, they embarked on adventures, fulfilling Mike's dream of immigrating to America like the rest of his siblings. Job prospects led them to relocate to Saudi Arabia. New opportunities for travel allowed Pam to explore new countries with her family including Sri Lanka, Thailand, Bali, Italy, Greece, India and many more. Pam embraced this new environment, nurturing her children amidst the desert sands and fostering her passion for birds. Her husband built four aviaries, a testament to her dedication to these winged creatures.

After Mike’s passing, Pam navigated life as a widow, facing hardships while working in challenging service jobs to provide for her and her family. Moving from North Carolina she returned to Louisville, KY, completing the circle that started with her first home in America. Retirement finally granted her two precious years of leisure before her passing.
