Dr. Philip J. “Phil” Sorota passed away at home on October 30, 2018.
He was born May 12, 1945 in Lowell, MA and grew up in Andover as one of four children born to Stephen and Stephanie Sorota. He attended Phillips Andover Academy and Cornell University. Shortly after graduation he entered the United States Army and was sent to Vietnam with the 11th Armored Cavalry where he earned a Purple Heart and two Bronze Stars while serving his country.
In 1975 he graduated Palmer Chiropractic College and established Sorota & Sorota Chiropractic Office with late wife Karen R. Sorota, to whom he was married for 42 years. Together, they devoted themselves to the health of their community and serving those in need.
Philip was an active member of Southeast Christian Church, receiving encouragement there to live out the faith that was so precious to him. He regularly volunteered with Boy Scouts of America. An exemplary husband, father, grandfather and friend, he greatly loved those around him and is dearly missed by all.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his loving wife, Karen R. Sorota.
He is survived by his three children, Hannah Sorota Hall (Dan), Noah Sorota (Esther) and Nathan Sorota (Elizabeth); three siblings, Diane Sorota O'Dwyer, Peter Sorota (Melisa), Stephen Sorota; and four grandchildren, Lucy Sorota, Philippa Sorota, Georgina Sorota, and Victoria Hall.
Services will be held on Sunday, Nov. 4th, at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd. Visitation 3-5pm, Service 5pm.
