Obituary for Phyllis Prince

Phyllis Prince, 83, of Louisville, died Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at Norton Brownsboro Hospital.

Born in Louisville to the late William and Dorothy (Campbell) Kremer, she was a graduate of Presentation Academy. She was the bookkeeper for Prince Custom Cabinet Shop, the former president of the Northfield Garden Club, and a long-time parishioner at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.

In addition to her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by her sister, Pat Kremer Sabel (and her husband, Louie); and her brothers, Mike and Rick Kremer.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Dallas Prince; her children, Greg Prince (Yvonne Agan), Mark Prince (Donna), Steven Prince, and Melanie Myers (Mark); her siblings, Roger Kremer (Celine), David Kremer (Linda), Dan Kremer (Sheryl), and Carolyn Merkley (Bill); sisters-in-law, Nora and Jane Kremer, Kathy Kremer and Lucille Jackson; grandchildren, Christina (Mark), Angela (Alyssa), Kelsey (Houston), Allison, Lea (Nate), Michael, J.D., and Brianna; seven beloved great-grandchildren; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Phyllis was a smart and curious spirit who was naturally soft-spoken, yet her opinions and thoughts were always heard loud and clear by all. She was famously known for her innate ability to save every cent and stretch every dollar, giving a new meaning to frugality. Her sharp and humorous wit delighted and entertained all those around her; from her notable eye rolls to her hilariously expressive face, she never missed an opportunity to let everyone know what she thought, oftentimes leading to notoriously clever banter between husband and wife that everyone had come to expect from the couple. Most importantly, she was a loving, caring, and devoted sister, mother, friend, & grandmother who will be loved and cherished by all who knew her.

Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12 noon on Friday, June 16, 2023 at Our Lady of Lourdes, 508 Breckenridge Ln, with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery. Her visitation will be from 4-8 pm Thursday at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to St. Joseph Children’s Home.
