Obituary for Richard A. "Rich" Streicher, Sr.
Richard A. “Rich” Streicher, Sr., age 87, passed away on January 3rd, 2024. He was born on March 26th, 1936, the son of Matthew and Amelia Streicher.
Rich was a graduate of St. Xavier High School and worked as general manager of wholesale spirits with Louisville Crown for 26 years. After retiring, he went on to work for Semonin Realtors. Rich was also a member of the Kentucky Football Officials Association (KFOA) and a KFOA Hall of Fame inductee.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, M.J. Streicher, Jr., Robert Streicher and Donald Streicher; and sisters, Mary Catherine Streicher and Jean Claire Wells.
Rich is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Carolyn Rose Streicher; sons, Richard A. Streicher, Jr. (Carol), Stephen Jude Streicher (Diane), Eric Anthony Streicher (Ann); his daughter, Leah Ellen Boggs (Terry); grandchildren, Nikki Durst (Matt), Daniel Streicher (Amanda Goins), Kaitlyn Streicher, Shelby Breit (Alex), Austin Streicher, Anthony Streicher, Mariah Streicher, Emma Boggs and Ainsley Boggs; and great-grandchildren, Madalyn, Hayden, Kathryn, Jackson, Nora, Hank, Canyon, Hudson, Theo and Eli.
His funeral Mass will be at 12:00 Noon on Monday, January 8th, at the Cathedral of the Assumption, 433 South Fifth Street. Visitation will be held Sunday, 12:00 pm – 6:00 pm, at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road. Private burial will be at a later date.
