Robert Kraft, 60, of Louisville, KY., passed away Thursday, October 7, 2010. He was born November 4, 1946 to Mildred Bettmann Kraft, originally of New Albany, IN and Robert Pfeiffer Kraft of Louisville. He graduated from the former Westport High School and in 1971 from Indiana University, where he was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. He received his Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Louisville in 1975 and completed his fellowship in gastroenterology at the University of Iowa in 1981. He was board certified in both internal medicine and gastroenterology. He began a private gastroenterology practice until he retired in March 2004. He was baptized and confirmed a member of St. John Lutheran Church, a life member of Indiana University Alumni Association, a Life Loyal Sigma Chi, and a past member of the Transylvania Medical Society and the Jefferson Medical Society. He is survived by his wife, Betty Price Kraft; two sister, Carolyn L. Kraft of Louisville and Sally Kraft Moreland of Union, KY; stepson, A.J. Decker of Louisville; stepdaughter, Angela Decker Freedman of Maui, HI; stepgrandson, Adam Decker of Louisville; and nephew , Matthew Mooreland of Florence, KY. The funeral service will be 11 a.m. on Monday at Highlands Family-Owned Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd., and graveside burial will follow immediately afterwards at Cave Hill Cemetery in Louisville. Visitation will be 1-4:30 p.m. and 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Sunday, October 10th at the funeral home.
