Obituary for Robert Michael "Rob" Slawinski

Robert ‘Rob’ Michael Slawinski, 63, passed away on February 5th, 2024. He was born on January 26, 1961, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Michael F. Slawinski and Florence P. Slawinski.

Rob was a first generation Polish American. He was a 1979 graduate of Lake Central High School in St. John, Indiana where he played varsity tennis. He was also a 1983 graduate of Indiana University School of Business. After passing the CPA, he worked in public accounting, and most recently as the CFO of Biltz Manufacturing in Jeffersonville, Indiana where he worked for 15 years.

He loved his family, sports (IU, UK, Cubs, Bears), swimming at his pool, rock n’ roll, trivia, Gulf Shores, golf (no matter what time of year it was), cigars, chocolate milkshakes, Italian sausage and beef, winning food eating contests, pranks, showing up places uninvited, stalking his daughters, getting thrown out of grade school sporting events, creating homemade signs, protesting, President Donald J. Trump, walking Blue at the dog park, and had a photographic memory as well as ran a 4:51 mile (confirmed by Gary Dean). Rob loved his family more than anything and will always be here for his children and beloved wife. His most favorite times included family dinner nights and everyone being together. He was the best dad and Papaslaw ever. He will be sorely missed.

He was preceded in death by his father Michael F. Slawinski.

He is survived by his mother, Florence Slawinski, sisters Arleen Slawinski Watkins (Bob) and Susan Slawinski, his wife of 35 years, Anne Clark Slawinski, and his children Gabrielle Slawinski Tharp (Mitch Tharp), Robert ‘Robbie’ Michael Slawinski Jr., and Noel Slawinski Lutes (Jacob Lutes), as well as his Granddaughter Vera Tharp and several nieces and nephews.
