Obituary for Ronald L Hout

Ronald L. Hout, 67, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, August 13, 2018.

He was born on June 15, 1951 in Fort Dodge, Iowa to Lester and Josephine Hout, the 2nd oldest of 6 children. Ron was very proud of his Iowa heritage and always had great stories about his upbringing on the farm. He graduated from Fonda High School in Fonda, Iowa in 1969 and then served in the U.S. Navy from 1971-1975. He attended the University of Kentucky thereafter and graduated in 1978 with a BHS in Physical Therapy. It was there that he met his wife, Lisa, in the fall of 1977 and they married the following year on December 30, 1978.

They were gifted with 5 fabulous boys, Matthew (Sandy), Kevin, Kyle, Isaac, and Quentin, whom he deeply loved and had great pride.

In addition to his parents, Ron is preceded in death by his sister, Letha Pam, his brother, Bill, and father-in-law, Martin Willinger.

Ron is survived by his wife Lisa (nee Willinger), 5 boys, as well as his sisters, Teresa Hout and Connie Shute (Scott) of Des Moines, Iowa and his brother, Rusty (Sherry) of Cole Camp, Missouri, as well as a very special cousin Karen Voss (Milton) of Fonda, Iowa.

Ron is also survived by some very special in laws, Claire Willinger (M-I-L), Marsha Willinger, Cindy Brundage (Bill), Marty Willinger (Joyce), Laura Fitzgerald (Ned), Richard Willinger (Brenda) of Columbus, Ohio, Eric Willinger (Andrea) and Lynn Goranflo (Bryan), a boatload of nieces and nephews, as well as great-nieces & nephews, and cousins too numerous to mention.

He will be missed terribly by his loving sidekick dog, Trish, who accompanied him on his many trips to Starbucks. Ron cherished his family above all, coworkers at Caretenders where he worked for 28 years and his friends. He loved his cookouts on the deck, family time, his Kentucky Wildcats, and a great bourbon (always served neat).

Funeral service will be held at 6:00PM, Friday, August 17, 2018 at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville RD. Visitation will be from 2-8PM, Friday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers please honor and remember Ron with memorial contributions to Fonda Public School, C/O Karen Voss 56273 110th Ave Fonda, IA 50540 or the Wounded Warrior Project PO Box 758517 Topeka, Kansas 66675 or online at https://support.woundedwarriorproject.org
