Obituary for Rudolph (Rudy) William Mosier

Rudolph (Rudy) William Mosier, 76, died peacefully on September 24, 2018 at UofL Hospital after a long battle with Alzheimers, surrounded by family. He was born in Louisville and graduated from Morehead State University and Western Kentucky University.

Rudy was a band director for over 40 years, touching the lives of many students along the way. He worked at Jefferson County Public, Oldham County and Fort Knox Schools. He was the Hand Bell Choir Director for many years at St. Agnes Church.


He is preceded in death by his parents, Lorena and William Mosier, and half-brother, Jerry Mosier.

Rudy is survived by his wife of 47 years, JoAnn (Mudd) Mosier; daughters, Holly Sattler (Cortlund) and Kristi Parker (Bryan); grandchildren; Gwen, Garrett, Koster and Wiley; brother, William Mosier (Penny); sister, Lorena Stierle and numerous nieces and nephews.

His funeral Mass will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 28, 2018 at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 1920 Newburg Rd. with burial in Resthaven Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 12:00 - 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd.

Memorial contributions can be made in Rudy’s name to the Marching Band Scholarship Fund at Morehead State University, where he served as drum major during college, or The Sanders-Brown Centers on Aging Foundation who treated him for Alzheimers.
