Obituary for Sallie Anne Hannigan

HANNIGAN, SALLIE ANNE, 79, of Louisville, passed away on Tuesday May 25, 2010.
She was the former Sallie Anne Broadus.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Sue Reedy Broadus; and her husband, Edward P. Hannigan.
She is survived by her son, David R. Harper (Lisa); stepgrandsons, Scott and Victor Meyer; and her sisters, Sue Ellen Ackerson and Mary Virginia Broadus.
Sallie Anne graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in 1948. She studied at Nazareth College for two years and received her undergraduate degree from the University of Kentucky. She received her Masters of Library Science from the University of Louisville. Sallie Anne worked at the Louisville Free Public Library and the Englewood Cliffs Library in New Jersey in the 1960's. After working at the Newark, NJ Public Library for 26 years, retiring in 1995, she then moved her residence from New Jersey to Louisville. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church.
Visitation will be at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road on Thursday May 27, 2010 from 2-7 p.m. Funeral service will be on Friday, May 28, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church at the corner of Bardstown Road and Edenside Avenue (one block north of Eastern Parkway) with burial to follow in Cave Hill Cemetery.
