Obituary for Sandra “Sandi” "Sandi" Smith (Brown)
Sandra Brown Smith, passed away on Sunday morning, August 28, 2022 on her way to Walnut Street Baptist Church, where she was a faithful member. Sandi was born Sandra Sue Brown on October 14, 1935 in Floyd County, Indiana, to J. Hays and Jane M. Brown. She was baptized in the Baptist Church on May 27, 1951. She later met and married Ernest Smith on February 18, 1972. She joined Walnut Street Baptist Church on November 23, 1986.
Ernest preceded her in death on August 17, 2009. She enjoyed traveling internationally, staying fit and active and dining out with family and friends. She had a fascinating career in the corporate world. Her intelligence, sense of humor and graciousness drew others to her.
She is survived by her first cousin, Herbert (Nancy) Smith; and two nieces, Deborah L. Brown and Rebecca Brown Ruppel. Her family and friends will miss her cheerful spirit and her enduring faith.
At her request, a graveside service at Cave Hill Cemetery will be held on Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at 1:30 p.m. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Walnut Street Baptist Church in her memory.
