HASSELWANDER, Sarah “Sally” Harrison, 77, of Louisville, died Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at Episcopal Church Home.
Born in Louisville to the late Albert and Christine Harrison, she was a graduate of St. Stephen Martyr, Presentation Academy, and Spalding College. After graduation she met and married Phil Hasselwander and lovingly raised a family of 4 children.
She was a dedicated volunteer throughout her life, including representing the US as one of 20 Delegates at an International Conference for the Junior Red Cross as a teen. She also was a teacher, volleyball coach and a helping hand to any friend in need.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Joan Riehl; and her brother, Jack Harrison.
She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Phil Hasselwander; her four children, David (Melissa) Hasselwander, Laura (Mark) Weis, Carey (Rob) Jordheim, and Kevin (Stephanie) Hasselwander, her sister, Tish Kiely; and her grandchildren Eric, Christine, and Daniel Hasselwander; Owen, Andrew and Harrison Weis; Porter and Gus Jordheim. Gillian, Sloane, Jules and Arden Hasselwander.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Sr. Julie Driscoll, Dr. Jane Cornett, Dr. Scott Young, the Episcopal Church Home and Home Instead (especially Linda Higgins and Dee Freeman)
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 AM on Saturday, Nov. 23, 2019 at St. Raphael, Bardstown Rd at Lancashire Ave, with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 PM Friday at Highlands Funeral Home , 3331 Taylorsville Rd.
