Obituary for Theresa Spayd

70, of Corydon,IN.,passed away October 9, 2010 at her home after a courageous battle with stomach cancer. Terri never met a challenge she didn't like or believe she couldn't conquer. Her compassion for others and love for her husband and family was an inspiration to all who knew her. Her faith in God was steadfast, undeniable and is her greatest legacy. She was a native of Spring Valley, NY.,and was retired from Delmonico Foods after 32 years of service. Terri was a long time active parishoner of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church before moving to Corydon, in 1998 where she then joined St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lanesville. Terri was preceded in death by her parents Harral and Stella Rickley; an infant brother Billy Rckley; and a sister, Rose Johnson. She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Richard Spayd; children, Darlene Karem(Chris), Keith Spayd(Susan); and Andrew Spayd(Jessika); grandchildren, Brandon Karem (Heather); Samuel Spayd, Olivia Karem, Lilly Spayd, Max Karem, Emma Spayd and Grace Karem; great-grandchild, Levi Karem; brother Harral "Rick" Rickley (Judy); her best and most adored friend, Joan Dunnigan; her sisters and brother-in-law and many nieces and nephews. Terri's funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 2500 St. Mary's Dr.,Lanesville, IN., with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, in Lanesville. Visitation is at Highlands Family-Owned Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd., Louisville, KY 40205.
