Obituary for Thomas Gerald Hamilton
Thomas Gerald Hamilton, 85 of Louisville, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, April 6th, 2024.
He was born on April 26th, 1938 in Springfield, KY to Eugene and Melvina Hamilton. Tom served in the US Army and he was a member of Ascension Catholic Church. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He retired as a Financial Loan Officer from US Small Business Administration. He loved playing the guitar and organ. He married the love of his life Carolyn and they raised 5 wonderful children, who gave him 7 grandchildren and one great grandchild that were the light of his life.
Tom was preceded in death by his loving wife of 67 years, Carolyn Hamilton, his parents, two sisters, Sharon Hamilton and Viola Edelen and one brother, J.E. Hamilton.
He is survived by his loving children, Jerry Hamilton, Geoff Hamilton (Lisa), Laura Thomas (Charlie), Danny Hamilton (Jill) and Julie Kieckhefer (Paul), his grandchildren, Jared, Evan, Rachel, Megan, Jordan, Alaina and Nathan, one great grandchild, Declan, one sister, Charlotte Hamilton (Gerald) and three brothers, Bill Hamilton (Judy), Steve Hamilton and Larry Hamilton.
Visitation will be Thursday, April 11th, from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd. His Funeral Mass will be 11:00 am, Friday at Ascension Catholic Church, 4600 Lynnbrook Drive, Louisville, KY 40220.
