Obituary for Thomas "Tommy" David King
Thomas “Tommy” David King, 34, passed away peacefully on February 13th, 2024, in Louisville, Kentucky.
He was born on June 27th, 1989, and was loved by all: his parents, Karen & David King; sister, Caroline Matthews (brother-in-law, Jon); brother, Nicholas; and nieces, Wells & Mac.
He is also survived by many aunts & uncles: Patty & Jerry, Phyllis, Kenny, Paula & Larry King, Amy & Donnie Becht, Annie & Steve McDevitt, Susan & Todd Rittenberry, Lauren & Brian Masterson; and many cousins & caregivers.
Tommy was a member of St. Margaret Mary Parish, and attended Lowe Elementary, Kammerer Middle and Ballard High School. In his adulthood, he spent his years with his friends at Kaleidoscope.
From birth, Tommy brought an abundance of joy to all who met him. He was the center of our family who united all of us together. Tommy was the epitome of unconditional love. He was a gentle and kind soul who had a smile that melted hearts. He showed others to be compassionate and not sweat the small stuff that life throws at you.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Janie & Bob King, Emelie & Joe McDevitt, Uncle Steve, and Aunts Sheeran & Dianna King.
Visitation will be at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road, on Friday, February 16th, from 2 p.m. - 8 p.m. His funeral Mass will be celebrated at Epiphany Catholic Church, 914 Old Harrods Creek Road, at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 17th, 2024, with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial gift may be made to Kaleidoscope Inc., "In Memory of TDK", 10330 Bunsen Way, Louisville, KY. 40229.
His time here with us was short, but we find comfort knowing he is now running with the angels.
