Obituary for Virginia Lee Flanders

Virginia Lee Kleier Flanders, born January 17, 1926, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2018.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 51 years, Bobby Flanders, and siblings Earl, Clifford, Alene, Helen, Agnes, Alice, Ruthie, and Jeanne.

She is survived by her children: Barbara Wine (Bill), Trish Morrison-Kall (Jack), Marilyn Clubb, and Mike Flanders (Lisa); Grandchildren: Julie Lund (George), Lara Uhls (Jimmy), Robby Wine (Susan), Jeremy Flanders (Stacy), Erin Davis (Rob), Justin Flanders, and Adam Flanders; and 17 Great-Grandchildren.

Virginia attended Presentation Academy and had a successful career with First National Bank before she and Bobby opened Shively Sporting Goods in 1968, where she then worked for 50 years.

Virginia was a pioneer in her day as a female entrepreneur. She was known for her great sense of humor, her generosity, and being a winner in life and the slot machines.

Visitation will be Sunday from 2-8pm at Highlands Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be held Monday at 10am at Holy Trinity Catholic Church.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to Presentation Academy.
