We remember:
Fr. Bill, standing out in the rain with an umbrella, welcoming parishioners to Epiphany as they exited their cars in front of Church before Christmas Mass.
Fr. Bill standing outside greeting parishioners coming into Mass at other times, even when he was the celebrant.
Fr. Bill, smiling and encouraging us all to sing with feeling. His joy was infectious!
Fr. Bill asking if anyone had a birthday, anniversary or other special event to share after Mass before the hymn.
(On my 54 birthday, I asked Fr. Bill to please not ask my age when our kids told the whole congregation about it. I did, however, turn back to him and tell him that I was the same age as Dolly and Cher. When our daughter announced the BD, he commented that he would not ask the age as he normally did. He lowered his head for a moment for dramatic effect, then looked up and announced that I did mention that I was the same age as Dolly and Cher. He looked down again, raised his head and asked, very innocently, "Does anyone know how old Dolly and Cher are?" He knew our kids couldn't wait to answer, and they shouted out 54! He had a great sense of humor and a comedian's timing!)
Fr. Bill inviting the people who came to daily Mass to his own house for donuts and coffee! (I worked and hardly ever came to daily Mass, so this may have been common, I don't know, but still pretty amazing.
Dear Fr. Bill, always loving, enthusiastic, funny and unassuming. What a great saint and model for us! Welcome home, good and faithful servant...we will miss you, dear Pastor and Friend!

Fr. Bill...Gratefully, in the lush green meadows of Eternity, you won't need the tennis shoes you melted as you rested your feet on the tiled edge of our fire pit on that crisp October evening. You were our guiding light, always illuminating our way to the Kingdom. We have been blessed to walk with you briefly as you journeyed Home. Well done, dear friend. Peace at last, Sheri and Tony
