Obituary for William L. "Bill" Kaelin

William Lawrence Kaelin (September 23, 1930 – October 16, 2021)

William L. “Bill” Kaelin, 91, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2021.

He was born on September 23, 1930 in Louisville, KY to the late Carl E. Kaelin and Theresa Hynes Kaelin.

Bill was a graduate of Saint Xavier High School and worked for the United States Postal Service for 35 years before retiring in 1985. He was loved by all the customers in Cherokee Park and especially loved by all of their pets.

He was a member of St. Pius X Church, and gave much of his time preparing the finest coleslaw for Lent and the summer picnic. Bill was a cheerful gentleman that always had a smile on his face and never had a bad day.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Beatrice P. Kaelin; son, William J. Kaelin; siblings, Mary Catherine Liebert, Louis Kaelin, Jack Kaelin, Dorothy Bauer, Marcie Pollard, and Don Kaelin.

Bill is survived by his daughter, Rebecca Primovic; son-in-Law John Primovic; daughter-in-Law, Amy Kaelin; and three grandchildren, Rachael Kaelin, and Lauren and Erica Primovic.

Visitation will be from 10 AM-12 PM on Monday, October 25, 2021, at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road, 40205.

The funeral service will be at 12:00 PM at the funeral home, with burial to follow at 1:00 PM, at Calvary Cemetery, 1600 Newburg Road.

All donations should be made to the Kentucky Humane Society.
