THOMAS, Douglas Patrick, 77, went to be with his Heavenly Father Sunday, February 22, 2015.

He was born in Allentown, PA to the late Ruth and Harold Thomas, and grew up in Fountain Hill, PA. He graduated from Princeton University with a Bachelors and Masters in Plastics Engineering. He went to OCS in Naval School Command and served on the USS Topeka. He worked in the plastics laboratory for General Electric, retiring after 35 years. He was past president of the Society of Plastics Engineers, an elder and proud member of the choir at Calvin Presbyterian Church, and a long-time volunteer for The Healing Place.

Besides his parents, Mr. Thomas is preceded in death by his brother, David Thomas.

He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Nancy Helm Thomas; children, Ruth Wong (Stephen), of San Diego, CA; Harold Thomas (Cynthia); and Doug Thomas (Amanda), of Orange County, CA; brother, Dudley Thomas (Mary Lou) of Medford, PA; and 9 grandchildren.

Visitation will be 3-7pm Friday at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road. His funeral service will be 11:30am Saturday at Calvin Presbyterian Church, 2501 Rudy Lane, with a reception immediately following. Burial will be private.
