McDonough, Bernie,

86, of Louisville, returned peacefully to Our Heavenly Father where she was reunited with her beloved husband of 64 years, Bob McDonough, on March 27, 2015.

She was a devout Catholic woman and beloved member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church. Her legacy will continue to thrive and flourish through her big family who was near and dear to her heart. She was an excellent example to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and will be greatly missed. She had many friends that she met through volunteering, clubs, church groups and Bunco and will be dearly missed by them as well. Her heart was that of a servant, always sharing and giving of her time.

She was preceded in death by her husband Bob McDonough and her premature twins, Joseph and Mary.

She is survived by her children Mary Jo Husband (Steve), Robin Antonini (Jerry), Mark McDonough (Sharon), Patty Ashley, Jeanne Bray (Ed), Alice Owens, James McDonough (Judith), Anne Satterly (Brent) and Peggy Spyhalski (John); 25 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; her sister Carolyn Hohlmann; sister-in-law Mary Rose Klueber; and brother-in-law "Tut" Tutwiler.

Her family would like to thank the staff of St. Mary and Elizabeth Hospital and the physicians, Dr. Ummat, Dr. Raghavan, Dr. Keiran and Dr. Kemper.

Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 am on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at St. Bernadette, 6500 St. Bernadette Avenue, with burial to follow at Calvary. Visitation will be from 1-8 pm on Monday at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road.
