Obituary for Judith Foley

Judith Ann “Judy” (Kinser) Foley died peacefully at Norton Healthcare Pavilion on July 28th in Louisville at the age of 73. Judy is survived by her husband, Ronald C. Foley and is preceded in death by her parents, John Malcolm and Ruby Lee Kinser, of Louisville.
Judy was born on March 3, 1942 in Louisville. A graduate of the Louisville School of Art, she directed the Psychiatric Craft Shop at Norton Hospital for nearly thirty years. Her artistic skill and gentle spirit rendered her perfectly suited to work with the patients entrusted to her care. Upon retiring, Judy enjoyed doing many different craft projects—sewing; making dolls and jewelry; and assembling carefully made Christmas boxes for children around the world. She was quiet, gentle, kind and patient. She delighted in the visual beauty of both divine and human creations and tried to capture that beauty in her own art and craftwork. She was a member of Southeast Christian Church.
A memorial service is scheduled for 2 p.m., August 1 at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd. Family will greet visitors at 1 p.m.
