Obituary for Maurice J Brotzge

Maurice J  Brotzge
Maurice Joseph Brotzge, a great husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather died May 16, 2016 at home with his family. Celebrate his life. Married to the love of his life, Anne, for 67 years with whom he owned and operated Colonial Designs. As a Marine he fought on the Sands of Iwo Jima to defend his country in WWII. Privileged to coach and mentor young men at Flaget high school. He taught and coached football at Trinity High School for many years and rounded out his love for the game by refereeing High School football for 25 years.
Survived by his wife of 67 years Anne Losson Brotzge, children, Martha Weinert (Fred), Terry Dayton (Kent), Joe (Vennie), Michael (Beth), Pat (Mary Beth). And grandchildren: Shannon Holsclaw (Brad), Kristen Beckmann (Chris), Scott Weinert (Amanda), Amy Moyer (Nick), Jennifer Schmidt (Jason), Chris Dayton (Julie), Mary Crae Guild(John), Hannah Brotzge, Losson Brotzge, Caroline Brotzge, Jack Brotzge, Hailee Brown, Ally Brown, Lukas Brown; 11 great grandchildren; one sister Martina Durrett (Bob) and nephew Bob Brotzge and many other nieces and nephews; and was preceded in death by his brothers Charlie and R.W.
A special thanks to Samantha at Hosparus, Dr. Jeff Anderson, his caregivers: Cathy Hatke, Lawanda Bowman, Chris Bowman and especially Ronna Grant.
Visitation will be Wednesday, May 18, at Highlands Funeral Home from 2-8 p.m. Funeral service will be Thursday, May 19, at 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 501 Cherrywood Road.
