REID, Fredrick A., 90, of Louisville, died Tuesday September 27, 2016, at Baptist Health.
Born in New Haven, KY, he was a Master Chief Mineman, U.S. Navy, retired, having served in WWII, Korea, and Vietnam. He was also a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church.
Fred was preceded in death by his wife, Millicent Spanyer Reid; and a son, Stephen Reid.
He is survived by his daughter, Linda Knox (William); his son, Commander James Reid (Joy); daughter-in-law, Melissa Reid; sisters, Louise Dant, Catherine Sheckarski, and Roberta Brinker; his brother, Edmund Reid; grandchildren, Robert Knox, Christopher Lindfors, and Shannon, John, Jennifer, Peter, and Michael Reid; and great-grandchildren, Sophia, Rhys, Abigail, Hunter, and Audrey.
His funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 1, 2016 at St. Agnes, 1920 Newburg Rd., with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1-7 p.m. Friday and 9-10 a.m. Saturday at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd.
