Obituary for Thomas Davis Johnson Sr.

Thomas Davis  Johnson Sr.
Tom passed away peacefully on March 7, 2017 at home with his loving wife of 67 years by his side. Tom was born on Aug 30, 1927 and was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and a sister. He is survived by his wife Margaret and sons Tom, Jr (Janet) and John (Deborah); six grandchildren Erica (Jason) Eaves, Tommy (Megan) Johnson, Sarah (Stephen) Parker, Jeffery Johnson, Joshua (Shelby) Johnson and Bethany Johnson and six great grandchildren.
Tom loved his country serving 41 years in the US Military; 27 yrs in the Navy, 8 yrs in the Airforce and 6 yrs in the Army. He loved Christmas and played Santa for over 30 yrs for the children and parishioners at St Ann‘s in Howardstown, KY as well as the kids in his neighborhood. Such joy and fun he had and that he brought to many children over the years.
He was a member of St Agnes Parish, the American Legion Post 180, the Knights of Columbus, the Bonnycastle Club, and a lifetime member of the NRA. A special thank you to all of the beautiful friends and family that came to see him and to his caregivers, Bethany, Pam, Chandra, Brittany, Melvin and Matt.
Visitation will be from 2:00 to 8:00 on March 10, 2017 at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville, Rd. His funeral mass will take place at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 1920 Newburg Rd on March 11,2017 at 10:00am. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery followed by a gathering of friends and family at St Agnes. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Passionist Monastery or Mass on The Air.
