King, Robert W., 79, of Louisville, passed away on February 8, 2017 with his family at his side.

He was born in Findlay, Ohio on August 17, 1937 to Vernon and Zoe King. He graduated from Fostoria High School and then enlisted in the United States Navy. In 1960, he married the true love of his life, Patricia Reffner. They had two children, Beth Ann and Jeff.

Bob worked as a typesetter in the printing business- first, as a linotype operator and then taking classes to learn computer applications in printing. Bob and Pat moved their family several times for job opportunities to Hanover Park, Illinois, Plano, Texas and later to Louisville, Kentucky.
He was a kind and generous man and liked by everyone who met him. He enjoyed football and was an avid Ohio State and Cleveland Browns fan. Bob was a member of the Friendship Sunday School class at Beargrass Christian Church. Bob was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was very proud of his family.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Zoe; a brother, Charles; and by his beloved wife, Patricia.

He is survived by his son, Jeff, of Dallas, Texas; and by his daughter, Beth Dowdell (son-in-law, Richard Dowdell) and his two granddaughters, Katie and Megan Dowdell of Louisville.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 10, 2017 from 4:00-8:00 pm and Saturday, from 10:30-1:30 pm at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road. The memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at 1:30 pm at Highlands.
